Funtastic - our Saturday Club
	If you are a parent caring for a child with disabilities and need a break at the weekend, our Saturday club may be just what you are looking for!
	Funtastic is our Saturday club for children with disabilities, aged between 5 - 18yrs. Our aim is to provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can be cared for whilst their parents and carers have a break. This may be simply to have time for themselves, or to spend some quality time with the other children in the family. The club is able to offer respite breaks to parents who are caring constantly at home for a child with disabilities and who live in the Mole Valley district. Each Saturday, 12 children attend the club between 11am and 4pm and participate in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, games, cookery, music or simply playing. Children bring their own packed lunch. They are supervised by a qualified nurse and a team of experienced care attendants who ensure that all the children's needs are met. Children who are registered with the club attend on one Saturday in three. Rotas are planned 3 months in advance to give parents and carers the opportunity to plan ahead. We are not usually able to offer a crisis or emergency service. All our staff at the club undergo a rigorous recruitment and selection process before joining the club and are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau to ensure that they are suitable to work with children. They also receive a thorough induction training as well as ongoing training when necessary. The club is managed by our Funtastic Manager, Louise Walmsley. All staff who work for the club are paid employees of Mid Surrey Crossroads. Mid Surrey Crossroads is a registered charity and receives some statutory funding, although this is not sufficient to meet all our costs. The Saturday Club makes a small charge of £10 per session, which is paid on the day. Donations and contributions are always welcomed to enable us to supplement the care hours provided and to purchase additional equipment for the club.
